Hawaii Month-to-Month Rental Agreement
A Hawaii month-to-month tenancy continues until someone ends it with proper notice. A landlord generally gives 45 days’ written notice to end a month-to-month tenancy; a tenant generally gives 28 days (Haw. Rev. Stat. § 521-71). The usual security-deposit cap is 1× monthly rent.
