Minnesota Notice of Rent Increase
Give written notice before raising rent on a Minnesota tenancy. Follow the lease and Minnesota notice rules. Local rent-control rules can cap the amount even when the notice period is met.
- A month-to-month tenancy generally takes written notice at least equal to the interval between rent payments (Minn. Stat. § 504B.135).
- This notice is not an eviction and not a new lease.
- City rent-control or just-cause rules may still limit the increase.
